Is there a cost to the Train to Gain Brokerage service?
The brokerage service is government funded and therefore is free to access for employers. Depending on your training needs the provision we source for you will not always be funded. We are an impartial service and always look at the most cost effective solution for you as the employer. It is your choice what training you undertake from accessing the service.
Can public sector organisations access funding for training from Train to Gain or the Enhancement fund?
The public sector can access the same funding as private organisations from Train to Gain, however some organisations may need to sign a JIF before they can do this. Our brokers can help with this. Unfortunately the public sector can no longer access funding from the Enhancement Fund.
Can the Train to Gain Brokerage provide funding towards wage costs?
There is no funding towards staff wages. If your organisation employs less than 50 staff you may be able to claim wage compensation for the time they spend training to gain their first level 2 NVQ. If you are employing a young person between the ages of 16-18 who is eligible for an apprenticeship, the training is funded and you only need to pay a training allowance of around £95 per week. For eligible apprentices aged 19+ the training allowance can be less than the National Minimum wage for the first year only.
