School Support Staff Qualifications

Business Administration NVQ Level 2

This school based qualification is designed to reflect the work of administration staff and is for those who are working with some autonomy and personal responsibility. It is aimed at candidates who work as part of a team and ensure the provision of information and resources to others.

Business Administration NVQ Level 3

This school based qualification is designed to reflect the work of administration staff and is for those who are working with a high degree of autonomy and personal responsibility. It is aimed at candidates who are involved in developing, implementing and maintaining administrative services for customers and clients.

Children's Care, Learning and Development NVQ Level 2

This qualification is aimed at nursery assistants, crèche workers and special educational needs assistants working in a supporting role.This 7 unit qualification consists of 6 mandatory units and 1 optional unit.

Children's Care, Learning and Development NVQ Level 3

This qualification is aimed at childminders, day-care supervisors, SureStart workers and community nursery nurses who may have some supervisory responsibilities or be involved in specialist tasks with some degree of responsibility or independence. This 9 unit qualification consists of 5 mandatory units and 4 optional units.

Customer Service NVQ Level 2

This qualification is designed for individuals whose customer service role requires well developed behavioural competence but whose scope for independent decision making and bringing about change is limited.

Customer Service NVQ Level 3

This qualification is designed for individuals who have the scope to bring about permanent improvements in service delivery that benefit customers and the organisation for which they work. Such individuals do not have to be in roles where they have direct line responsibility for people.

ILM Award in Team Leading

This Level 2 Award in Team Leading has been specifically designed to give practising or aspiring team leaders a solid foundation in their formal development as a leader. It is a concise qualification designed to give learners a basic knowledge of the various roles, functions and responsibilities of a team leader and the limits of their authority and accountability.

ILM Award in First Line Management

This Level 3 Award in First Line Management has been specifically designed to give practising or aspiring first line managers a solid foundation in their formal development as a manager. It is a concise qualification which gives an introduction to the basic skills, knowledge, and understanding required by today’s first line manager.

Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools NVQ Level 2

This school based qualification is aimed at candidates who are in work roles where they provide direct support for teaching and learning in any type of school – primary, secondary, special or pupil referral units.

Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools NVQ Level 3

This school based qualification is aimed at candidates who are in work roles where they provide direct support for teaching and learning in any type of school – primary, secondary, special or pupil referral units.

Support Work in Schools VQ Level 2: Award and Certificate

This qualification is suitable for individuals who undertake support work roles within schools, including: Administrators; receptionists; PAs; library assistants; data managers; technicians; IT support; learning resources; caretakers; midday supervisors; special educational needs; learning support.

Candidates should be in current employment or working voluntarily within a school environment.

Support Work in Schools VQ Level 3: Award, Certificate and Diploma

This qualification is suitable for individuals who undertake support work roles within schools, including: Administrators; receptionists; PAs; library assistants; data managers; technicians; IT support; learning resources; caretakers; midday supervisors; special educational needs; learning support.

Candidates should be in current employment or working voluntarily within a school environment.

Support Work in Schools VQ Level 3 (Parent Support Option): Certificate and Diploma

This qualification has been designed to meet the needs of Parent Support Advisors. Learners have the choice of doing a 4 unit certificate or a 6 unit diploma.

Team Leading NVQ Level 2

This qualification is aimed at candidates who are in work roles where they have a responsibility for the work of others as they lead a team. This 6 unit qualification consists of 4 mandatory units and 2 optional units.
